Low Carbon Building Programme Phase 2 (LCBP2) funded up to 50% of projects for charitable bodies and public sector buildings including schools, hospitals, housing associations and local authorities.
This phase of the Low Carbon Building Program was aimed mainly at charities and public sector projects. Econic has carried out a large number of projects under this scheme which has been seen as a great success. Originally intended to run until 2011 the scheme was ended with immediate effect in June 2010 following the announcement of spending cuts by the new Government.
Applications that have already been made will still be processed but the programme is closed to new applicants. Grants already awarded will still be honoured.
Renewable heating technologies should be financially supported in future by the Renewable Heat Incentive:
For the installation of electricity generation technologies like solar PV and wind the new Feed-In-Tariff scheme was introduced in April this year.
