Low Carbon Building Programme Phase 1 (LCBP1) was aimed at domestic properties in England and Wales.

BERRThe Low Carbon Building Program was the Government’s capital grants programme to support the installation of renewable energy technologies in houses. The programme had been running for a number of years and supported a large number of installations over that time.

As part of the spending cuts announced by the new Government in June 2010 this programme has been ended with immediate effect. There are now no capital grants available from central Government to support householders with the installation of renewable energy systems.

Local councils may still offer some incentives to home owners in their areas.

Renewable heating technologies should be financially supported in future by the Renewable Heat Incentive:

For the installation of electricity generation technologies like solar PV and wind the new Feed-In-Tariff scheme was introduced in April this year.
