Econic provides a full range of renewable energy services for a project from assessing the viability of a project, including selection of the best renewable solution and grant and financing advice, the design and specification of the system, through to the supply, installation and aftercare.
Econic provides an end-to-end service covering all aspects of renewable energy solutions for buildings whether for public, commercial or private use. Our approach is to maximise the efficiency of every operational element and minimise installation costs and conflicts.
Our overall objective is to use our expertise to provide efficient and cost-effective solutions that ensure our homes, offices and public buildings offer pleasant environments and are comfortable to occupy.
Within the scope of Econic’s services, we are able to provide advice and guidance in providing cost effective solutions whilst meeting or exceeding the requirements of current and future regulations within the requirements of specific projects. Our range of services extends across all stages of considering renewable energy as a solution to meet the heating and hot water requirements of a prospective building. Our team of experienced specialists can provide professional services for any or all of these stages, either individually or as part of a complete design and build package.
The viability of achieving renewables targets or drivers requires a review of what different renewable technologies may be available, appropriate and applicable. How do you choose between them? Full understanding is required of what constraints apply to the features and specification of a building and what the desired/required end result is. Knowledge of grants or other financial support available is critical in determining the short and long-term commercial viability of a project. Part of the decision making process includes whether a renewable energy solution is cost-justified and whether there will be any additional environmental and commercial benefits resulting from the renewable scheme adopted.
The design process requires a detailed analysis of existing information and project constraints and opportunities. Some of the questions that have to be asked for ground source, heating, cooling and system potential are:-
- What are the peak heating and cooling loads of the development?
- What are the known or expected annual load profiles?
- What are the underlying ground and hydrogeological conditions, both near surface and at depth?
- What is the existing and proposed land usage and covering, and what are the site boundaries?
Site investigation has to be undertaken, followed by on site testing. Once completed, Econic has the knowledge and experience to produce a design and specification that will be effective and efficient for your project.
In order to ensure that a project is co-ordinated and completed correctly, experienced and efficient personnel with the right technical and practical skills are required. A specific installation, testing and commissioning programme must also be put in place, to ensure the works are completed on time and within budget. Changes in scope of works and specification must be managed in a timely and cost-effective way. The demarcation point, where the installation terminates and other contractors take over must be clearly defined. Equally, the commissioning and handover must be clearly defined. Econic has the skills and experience to ensure that the supply, installation and commissioning of your project happen in a timely and efficient manner to match the requirements of your project.
Econic provide a comprehensive range of aftercare services to ensure that you can enjoy the maximum benefits from your investment in renewable technologies. We comply with all the requirements of both the Microgeneration Certification Scheme and the Renewable Energy Assurance Code. Key points which must be addressed when considering aftercare include:
- What warranties apply to the equipment and systems?
- What regular maintenance should be planned?
- What arrangements should be made for call-outs in the event of an emergency?
- Who has the responsibility for finding and resolving faults?
Our team of experienced specialists can provide professional services for any or all of these stages, either singly or in sequence. Econic have a team of experienced specialist with a range of skills and experienced people at all levels to assess the viability of development projects, design and deliver simple and complex projects. Short to long term aftercare packages can be tailored to your needs.
